Meet at GROVE 5.  Heading North on Quentin from Dundee Rd. make a LEFT at the Preserve entrance (Camp Reinberg is on your right). Take that road to the stop sign. You'll see a sign on your right for Groves 4 and 5.  Turn right at that stop sign and go to the end of the road, passing grove 4, to GROVE 5.

I have raved about "getting into the woods"..... (and not getting lost) ever since Mike Kaminski took a small group of us out snowshoeing at DG (one winter when it used to snow).  We had a wonderful time.  So yes there are paths and you can see them on the All Trails app.

So download the free app before you get there and I will be happy to help anyone with it, just before we start the hike and during. It is a lot of fun.

I know I referred to this type of hiking as "bushwacking" but no, we won't be walking through brush.  These are designated single file trails so bring poles if you like for added balance and trust me..... you won't feel like you're in Palatine.

The plan is to follow the trail alongside the creek and then back down the other side.  There are no steep hills but could be muddy in places if we get a warm up this week.  And If you'd rather walk a wider trail to walk with someone, you can choose our usual Yellow route out and Orange service road back.  All options start from Grove 5.  Again All Trails is the way to NEVER get lost.  Both will be lovely.
